To train individuals to be able to construct an effective training event.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the day participants will have :
• Learnt the importance of clear aims and objectives and how to write them
• Understood the methodology of training needs analysis and employed it for an agreed task
• Understood the importance of learning styles to effective learning and how to use differing training styles to enable everyone to benefit
• Constructed a training programme and a training plan for an agreed task
AIM
To train individuals in the principles of designing training materials
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the day participants will have :
• Considered the importance of visual impact in relation to handouts and overhead projection materials
• Understood the principles of effective use of techniques such as summary, repetition, application and interaction
• Considered factors relating to disability awareness in preparing training materials
• Designed a handout and set of overhead slides for a training session
• Practiced techniques in relation to flip chart writing
AIM
To train individuals to deliver existing training materials effectively
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the training event participants will have :
• Understood the difference between teaching, training, facilitating and mentoring
• Considered good practice techniques and things to avoid when training
• Considered how room layout affects the effectiveness of training
• Considered the importance of preparation
• Received a helpful checklist to aid preparation
• Understood the principles of using training equipment effectively (Power Point, overhead projector slides, flip chart board, handouts, video equipment etc)
• Practiced using equipment in front of the group
• Delivered a 4 minute presentation to the group
• Received individual support and feedback
